Two Awesome Things I Can’t Go To: Sleep/Vaura
Just in case you are in San Francisco or New York tonight I thought I’d fill you in on some musical happenings.
Tonight at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco the legendary Sabbath riff-masters, Sleep, are performing their second SF show in a row as part of their reunion tour. I don’t know if it’s sold out or not but it’s all ages and doors are at 7pm.

In kind of the opposite of a reunion show, my Cynic US Tour buddy, Kevin’s (Dysrhythmia) brand new band, Vaura, is playing it’s first show ever at the Lit Lounge in New York. The Show starts at 8:45 and costs $6; Vaura will go on last around 11pm. I haven’t heard them yet, I don’t know if anyone has, but a credible source (Kevin’s facebook) says they sound something like “Joy Division meets Slowdive in a blender, maybe?” I’m sold.
